Cassia Street Reserve on the corner of Cassia St and Surf Beach Road was the focus of our October working bee. CPRRA cleared the reserve of blackberries, sweet pittosporum and mirror bush, and extensively planted it with indigenous species in 2013.

At the working bee we maintained the walking tracks, which had become quite overgrown, and removed woody weed seedlings.
It was exciting to see how well the plants had grown in only four years and to hear so many native birds singing. If you are passing the reserve and have a few minutes to spare follow one of the short walking tracks and discover this lovely patch of native bushland on the heart of Cape Paterson.
