The site is in front of the Kywong caravan park near the corner of Surf Beach Rd and Stuart St – the road that leads down to the boat ramp. Previous working bees had removed a large quantity of woody weeds, followed by weed (grass) spraying by Council.
With tube stock purchased by Council from the Wonthaggi Seed Bank and Nursery, the 18 volunteers were able to plant and guard 350 plants. We also reviewed plants put in in the last two years further west from the site. This showed that we only had about a 5% loss which is a very good result.
