Working Bee #12 Report

Thanks to the 22 enthusiastic volunteers who worked hard at the working bee on Sat Aug 13th. The weather was superb and made for perfect conditions for the crew.  We had about 100 plants to use filling gaps from previous plantings, along Surf beach Road and in the gully to the south of the Wonthaggi lifesaver's club. We also removed woody and invasive weed to maintain our previous work sites.

Three trailer loads of weeds were taken to the tip, including dumped household rubbish that had been thrown into the bush. The area is now looking great.

It is very satisfying to look around at the extraordinary growth of the thousands of trees we have planted in the past four years.

Congratulations and thanks to all our volunteers. Special thanks to Joan, George, Irma and Helen from Wonthaggi Lifesavers who support us at morning tea and lunchtime for each working bee.

We have three more working bees scheduled for 2011. Join us for a guaranteed energising and social morning at the workings bees on:

  • Sat Sept 10th
  • Sat Oct 8th
  • Sat Nov 12th
