Working Bee 8 - 9-Apr-2011

Working Bee 8 Report - Sat 9-Apr-2011

The latest working bee was a great success with about 20 volunteers.  The group worked from 9.30am to 1.00pm clearing several tonnes of Mirror Bush and other invasive species on the eastern side of the road that leads from Surf Beach Road  down to the Bay Beach.

The Wonthaggi Lifesaving Club prepared prepared morning tea and lunch which was greatly appreciated by all the volunteers.

Dave Martin from Bass Coast Shire arranged for the contractors Tree Notion to come back on Monday and mulch the branches. The mulch has been placed at the Surf Beach Road restoration site and will be spread in time for our next working bee on Saturday 14th May, when we will plant out the cleared area.
