Working Bee 8 September 2018

WB09front

On Saturday 8th September an intrepid band of sea spurgers removed their shoes and braved the raging waters of Wreck Creek to access 2 km of coastline from Wreck Beach, Harmer’s Haven to Second Surf Beach, Cape Paterson.

We spent the morning searching through the dunes and pulling up spurge seedlings that had emerged over the last 8 months. It was pleasing to see how few sea spurge seedlings are now appearing after working for 7 years to eradicate this invasive weed.

Well done gang for your perseverance and for tackling the steeper sandy slopes. A special thanks to Bruce for lugging the refreshments more than a kilometre along the beach to provide us morning tea and for ensuring we were well fed at lunchtime.
