Working bees are held on the second Saturday of the month. The next working bee will be on - SATURDAY 13 October.

Meet at 9am at the Wonthaggi Lifesaving Club.  All welcome.

Guling Orchid Season [Aug]

Cold weather is coming to an end. Guling (orchids) are flowering.

Ae-noke (caterpillars) of Common Brown butterfly feed on grasses at night.

Muyan (Silver Wattles) are flowering.

Bulen-bulen (Superb Lyrebird) males perform the last of their courtship displays.

The star Arcturus is seen on the northwestern horizon soon after sunset.

Gurrborra (Koalas) begin mating. Males bellow at night.

Working Bee 14 April 2018

frontpgA very dedicated 12-15 volunteers braved the windy conditions to do some woody weed removal. Luckily we were relatively sheltered from the wind on the slope. We had to pull the pin and had an extended morning tea due the rain settling in.
