Poorneet Tadpole Season [Sep-Oct]

Temperatures are rising but the rain continues. Pied Currawongs call loudly and often.

Flax-lilies are flowering.

The flowering of plants such as Myrnong, (Yam Daisy), indicates the tubers are ready for eating.

Bulen-bulen (Superb Lyrebird) males have finished displaying.

Days and nights are of equal length.

Working Bee this Saturday 10-Sep-11

Have you been to the Rifle Range Reserve which won a 2007 Vic Coastal award?
This Saturday we are planning to help out the community group responsible for this Reserve - they have 1,000 plants to go in. Come and join us help get these plants in the ground!

 

The Rifle Range Reserve is located off Reed Crescent, Wonthaggi, itself off Cameron St or Billson St - see map right.

Meet at the Rifle Range Reserve car-park at 9:30am Sat morning.
Given it is Spring, please bring along:

  • Gumboots
  • Gloves
  • Planting tools - trowel ++
  • Hats and sunscreen as appropriate
