Working Bee 16 June 2018

FrontpageA very successful working bee was held with 23 in attendance. Despite an early shower the weather held out. We moved and stacked woody weeds, mostly mirror bush, to prepare for planting next month. We also planted 90 native tubestock towards the top of the cleared area to provide some fast growing privacy screening for the caravan park.

Lunch was provided at the Wonthaggi Lifesaving Club with hot soup provided by Leone. Delicious!

A couple of small jobs were completed by a few keen volunteers in the afternoon and Sunday morning. Tall wire mesh guards were placed over some of last year’s plants, mainly banksias, that were being eaten off at the top of the cardboard guards by black wallabies and some large Mirror Bush branches were removed from Pea Ck where they were blocking the flow.
